What do you think about couples seeing each other and taking photos before their wedding ceremony?
Firstly, let us say that there is no right decision or wrong decision. Everybody is different and weddings should reflect the character and personality of the bride and groom.
Some people find not seeing each other old-fashioned and want nothing to do with a tradition rooted in the days of arranged marriages where women were sold to older men in exchange for cows. We’re not joking, this is how the tradition started. Not letting the groom see the bride until the ceremony was a tactic to stop him from deciding she wasn't worth the price he was paying and changing his mind. Needless to say, we don't think that's why anyone continues the tradition today.
Others prefer the anxious excitement and butterflies that you get when you stick with tradition and see each other for the first time at the altar. Whatever you decide, make sure you enjoy every minute of it as you’ll only get to do it once (you hope!).
Still not sure which one is right for you? This bride and groom managed to take pre-ceremony photos without actually seeing each other: behind a door. Clever! Can you imagine how much their hearts must be racing?
